6 Pakistani universities ranked to world’s top 800 list


Quacquarelli Symonds published list of top worldwide universities, 6 Pakistani universities had made ranked in the list but each of them ranked below 500.


Meanwhile, two of 14 placed in top 200 and seven of 14 Indian universities ranked in the top 400.

Five universities of United States, four from United Kingdom and one university from Switzerland ranked as top ten in the QS’s university ranking list.

1. National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST)


NUST was established in 1991and located in Pakistan’s Capital Islamabad. Dropping down from 401 in 2012, NUST had made itself ranked on 501th position and in the Asian University Rankings it had placed on 119th position. Scimago Institution Rankings has placed NUST 280th in the world for Innovative Knowledge and 358th globally for Technological Impact.

2. Quaid-i-Azam University

Quaid-i-Azam University

University is continuously ranked as the top university in Pakistan by the HEC. Quid-i-Azam University was founded 1967. It secures 651th slot in QS ranking. In the Asian University Rankings, it was ranked at 116.

3. Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)


Dropping down from 601 in 2012, LUMS graded 701. It was placed at 161 in the Asian University Rankings, progressively improving its positions which were 181 in 2014 and 191 in 2013.

4. University of Engineering & Technology Lahore (UET)


UET was established in 1921. It is the leading engineering University in Punjab. Having dropped down from 601 in 2012, it has continued to place itself at 701th position since 2013. It is also listed at 251th ranking in Asian Universities.

5. University of Karachi (UOK)


University of Karachi also retained its position at 701th since 2013. In the Asian University Rankings, it ranked on 251.

6. University of Lahore (UOL)


It was established in 1999 and located in Heart of Pakistan Lahore. University of Lahore placed on 701th among worldwide universities.
